New England Surf and Sand
Parks, Beaches and Recreation Areas for you and
your canine companion
Do you love to take your dog to the Beach?  Well here is a list of fabulous finds.

This list attempts to catalog all New England Beaches where dogs are allowed on the
beach for at least some part of the year.

Municipal policies change all the time. Please check with any township that you will be
visiting to confirm the information provided here before making any travel plans. Please
also realize that this list is in no way complete, so please do not be offended if your
township or favorite beach is not listed. This is a work in progress and it will be growing
and changing as I acquire new information.

PLEASE be respectful of any beach that allows dogs or we run the risk of losing them.
Keep your dog under control at all times and
PICK UP after your dog.

  Seapoint Beach
Seapoint Beach near Fort Foster is dog friendly all the
time.

Fort Foster (Maine) has great beaches and allows dogs
on the beach, and there is plenty of beach for them.
Dogs must be leashed but there is a section of beach
where everyone lets thier dogs run free. A great spot
with picnic grounds and hiking trails. For the most
beach time, go around low tide.
ME
  Ocean Park
Ocean Park, Maine (near Old Orchard Beach) has a
very liberal policy regarding dogs: Dogs are banned
only between 10am and 5 pm from Memorial Day
through Labor Day, and there is no posted leash law.
Many people bring their dogs first thing in the morning
and then at sunset.
