K9 Kitchen: Poochies Paella
A wholesome Mediterranean dish for your pooch. Want to share this with him/her? Just double the
quantities, and omit the calcium for your portion.
Serves 6 as a human dish, serves 2 as a doggie dish based on a 50lb/22.5kg pooch

Nutritional information is based on doggie needs

2 cups   brown rice, cooked   
1 cup   squid, chopped   
10    shrimp   
10    clams   
1/4 cup   peas   
1/2 cup   red pepper   
1    cube fish bouillon   
1/8 tsp   saffron   
10 tbs   tomato ketchup   
3    garlic cloves, chopped   
1/2 cup   water   
3 tbs   corn oil   
1 tsp   calcium powder
Clean the mussels and the clams and boil them together in a separate pot.


Heat the oil and lightly toast the chopped garlic. When golden brown, add the tomato
ketchup and simmer together. Add the squid and the shrimp. Cook until the shrimp
starts to turn red. Add the rice and saffron and simmer for 5 minutes, while stirring.
Then pour in the fish stock. Boil for 10 minutes; add the peas, peppers, mussels and
clams.



When the water has evaporated remove from the heat, cover and let cool.
