First I feel that a few comments
on using food to train and other
aids are called for. Many people
say "But I shouldn't have to bribe
my dog to work for me"
There is a large difference between a bribe and a reward.
When I train our dogs I use rewards and praise while they are
learning the basic commands.

All modern dogs are generally believed to be descended from Tomarctus, a stealthy predator that roamed the plains and grasslands of North America approximately ten to fifteen million years ago. Wolves, jackals, and coyotes are also believed to be descendants of Tomarctus.

Each year many dogs die from ingesting poisons they
found in the house, backyard, or neighborhood.
Cold Weather Hazards - Like coolant, antifreeze is a
lethal poison for dogs and cats. Be sure to thoroughly
clean up any spills from your vehicle, and consider using
products that contain propylene glycol rather than
ethylene glycol.
If you have any questions about poisons, or if you think
your dog might have eaten something poisonous,
contact your vet or the ASPCA Poison Control Center at
(888) 426-4435.

Winter Safety Tips
We sometimes forget the obvious. Smaller dogs have less
body mass so they have less protection against harsh
winter weather. They are also close to the ground (as are
all dogs compared to humans!).
Canine Massage and Stretching
Many dog owners invest considerable time with their
dogs in obedience training, seeking activities, agility,
tracking and protection exercises at training grounds,
out in the countryside or in the forest.
Stool Eating
Stool eating (also known as "coprophagia") is common
among many animals, not just dogs. It is not well understood
why some dogs eat stool. Some dogs may have a genetic
susceptibility to coprophagia.
(MAC) has just awarded $176,000 to 29 animal
organizations and controlfacilities across the state.
These grants tip the scale: as of today’s date over 1
million dollars have now been given out to numerous
animal shelters....

Dogs Need Different Diets At Different Times
Dogs need different diets at different ages. Yes. This
is true. For example, the puppy needs milk as the
major food item while an adult dog may need beef or
chicken in addition to the boiled egg and milk.

Unmistakable for any other breed the Bulldog is the most heavily built
of all dogs. The overall look is short and wide with a massive, powerful
head, heavy musculature, thick set bones and large feet. The muzzle is
short and pug with a black nose and large nostrils, the ears small and
set high on the head, the eyes wide spaced and very round.
